Jennifer Watson, MS CCC-SLP
I have 20+ years experience in pediatric Speech-Language Pathology. I am licensed Speech Language Pathologist and hold the Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA). In addition, I am licensed to practice Speech Language Pathology within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Over the past 20 years I have held a variety of positions within the outpatient setting, Early Intervention, and local school systems. Prior to moving to Cape Cod, I had a private speech therapy practice where I offered home-based individualized speech and language therapy and Professional Development opportunities on the South Shore of Massachusetts. I have lived on Cape Cod with my husband and two sons since 2004.
During my 27 years as a Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist, I have worked with clients ranging from the ages of 12 months to 24 years of age, with a variety of speech and language disorders, delays and diagnoses. Within my private practice, I offer screenings, evaluations, and individualized, intensive speech therapy through individual and small group settings while utilizing the interests of your child in order to help unlock their full potential.
I have extensive knowledge of effective treatment strategies for children, teenagers, and young adults presenting with social communication and pragmatic disorders. In completing my Master’s program at Emerson College I had the opportunity to work directly under the guidance of Barry Prizant, who developed specialty tracks in the area of Autism and language disabilities. I have taken this area of focus and expanded it over the years, as I have studied the “Social Thinking” Curriculum developed by Michelle Garcia Winner, DIR/Floortime, and Natural Language Acquisition.
Most recently I have become a credentialed provider for Learn with Less, a parent education company dedicated to helping to support new parents feel confident they can support and connect with their babies and toddlers – without having to buy a single toy. I currently offer small group and individual sessions where we target the four pillars of the program: Play, Talk, Sing, and Move, in an environment that supports each family and young child on their journey to learn and acquire new skills.
I am excited to be able to offer speech and language therapy to children while supporting families in helping their children meet their highest potential. If you are looking for a speech language pathologist look no further.
